YOUR ROLE
Together with our consultants, you will provide the basis for strategic decisions. You will evaluate the costs of components, manufacturing processes and product technologies and support forward-looking developments. - Support in cost analyses of technical products and components on the basis of hardware teardowns within benchmark projects
- Support in identification and evaluation of cost reduction potentials in close cooperation with interdisciplinary project teams and responsibility for individual work packages
- Support in cost evaluations of technical concepts and solutions for target cost determination in early development phases
- Further development of existing methods and tools for cost calculation
- Preparation of results and research
- Support at customer meetings from preparation to participation and follow-up
YOUR PROFILE
- Enrolled student in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, production engineering or a comparable course of study
- Passion for the technology of today and tomorrow
- Very good analytical and communication skills
- Ideally: First practical experience in the field of production engineering, value analysis or benchmarking desirable
- Sound knowledge in the use of Excel and PowerPoint
- Very good knowledge of English

Masterarbeit
Die Gruppe Energiesysteme und Energiewirtschaft erforscht mit Hilfe von Energiesystemmodellen klimaschutzkompatible Transformationspfade lokaler, nationaler und internationaler Energiesysteme. Mit dem Energiesystemmodell REMod werden Transformationspfade des deutschen Energiesystems bis zum Jahr 2045 unter Einbeziehung der Sektoren Strom, Wärme, Industrie und Verkehr berechnet und optimiert. Dabei wird sichergestellt, dass die Klimaschutzziele der Bundesregierung eingehalten werden. Unsere Studie „Wege zu einem klimaneutralen Energiesystem“ zeigt den Umfang unserer Analysen und Arbeiten mit dem Energiesystemmodell REMod. Die Dekarbonisierung des Gebäudesektors zählt zu den zentralen Herausforderungen auf dem Weg zur Klimaneutralität bis 2045. Das Ziel dieser Masterarbeit besteht in der Analyse der Transformation des Gebäudebestandes hin zur Klimaneutralität. Dabei wird der Einfluss verschiedener Gebäudetypen und Baualtersklassen untersucht. Zudem werden die resultierenden Sanierungstiefen in Verbindung mit den installierten Heizsystemen in einem kostenoptimalen Entwicklungspfad analysiert. Dadurch wird eine fundierte Bewertung der Transformation im Gebäudesektor und deren Auswirkungen auf das Gesamtsystem ermöglicht.

HiWi im Forschungsbereich Spritzgießen: Direktcompoundieren
Als studentische Hilfskraft unterstützt du unser Team bei aktuellen Forschungs- und Industrieprojekten.
Das Direktcompoundieren (DCIM) ist ein Sonderverfahren der Spritzgießtechnik. Es zeichnet sich durch die Kombination der Prozessschritte Herstellung des Kunststoffcompounds und anschließender Formgebung des Formteils aus. Durch die Kombination dieser beiden Prozessschritte ergeben sich eine Reihe von Vorteilen. Von besonderer Bedeutung ist die Möglichkeit, den Energieverbrauch bei der Formteilherstellung zu reduzieren. Dies resultiert daraus, dass das Material nach der Compoundierung nicht erneut aufgeschmolzen werden muss, sondern unmittelbar nach der Herstellung an eine Spritzgießmaschine übergeben wird. Das DCIM hat somit ein großes noch auszuschöpfendes Potenzial, wobei aber auch viele Herausforderungen zu bewältigen sind.
Dazu bist du gefordert:
Im Rahmen deiner Tätigkeit als Hiwi planst und führst du Versuche an einer neuen DCIM-Anlage durch und wertest die Daten aus. Dazu gehören Versuche zur Materialcharakterisierung sowie Versuche zur Prozessauslegung, -optimierung und -regelung.
Was du mitbringen solltest:
•Selbständiges, strukturiertes und eigenverantwortliches Arbeiten
•Technisches oder naturwissenschaftliches Studium (Maschinenbau, Materialwissenschaften, o. ä.)
•Interesse an einer längerfristigen Zusammenarbeit
•Kenntnisse im Bereich der Bedienung von Spritzgießmaschinen oder Bereitschaft dich im Feld einzuarbeiten

HiWi für Programmierung und Simulation
OpenFOAM: Take it to the next level!
Die Extrusion ist das wichtigste Verfahren zur kontinuierlichen Massenfertigung von Halbzeugen und Produkten aus Kunststoff. Oft entstehen bei der Produktion große Mengen Kunststoffmüll, die durch eine Verbesserung von Werkzeugkomponenten und ein besseres Verständnis des Zusammenspiels unterschiedlicher Prozessparameter vermieden werden könnten.
Über die Arbeitsgruppe:
In der Arbeitsgruppe „Extrusionswerkzeuge/CAE“ werden neue numerische Strömungs- und Struktursimulationen in der Open-Source Software OpenFOAM programmiert. Dabei spielen auch Optimierungsalgorithmen und High Performance Computing eine Rolle. Über die Jahre hat sich hierbei eine umfangreiche Code Base angesammelt, mit der unterschiedlichste Probleme der simulationsgestützten Werkzeugauslegung gelöst werden können.
Deine Aufgaben:
Zu deinen Tätigkeiten gehören die Aufbereitung und Wartung der Code Base, Schulung neuer Mitarbeitenden in den neuen hauseigenen Solvern sowie die Durchführung und Auswertung von Simulation in OpenFOAM. Darüber hinaus können auch Einblicke in die Durchführung experimenteller Untersuchungen an Technikumsanlagen und die Konstruktion von Werkzeugen und Geometrien zu Simulationszwecken gewährt werden. Die Arbeitsbereiche können je nach Kenntnissen und Vorlieben auf dich angepasst werden. Auch Projekt-, Bachelor- oder Masterarbeiten sind in den verschiedenen Bereichen möglich.
