In the department »fiber composite technology«, we deal with the process and machine development for technical products made from fiber reinforced plastics.

Within the scope of your thesis, you will investigate solutions for the start procedure of our recycling process for thermoplastic composites. The process allows regaining the valuable carbon fiber tape in good shape, preserving over 90% of its mechanical performance. Depending on the creation of a bachelor or master thesis the exact scope of your thesis may vary. Here you partly work on your tasks on site in our institute / in our machine park.

What you will do

  • Support of our research on recycling thermoplastic fiber-reinforced composites
  • Implementation of feasible solutions for the start procedure of our recycling process

What you bring to the table

  • You are studying mechanical engineering, computer science, CES or a comparable subject
  • Experience in technical drawing/CAD software and design of experiment (DoE) is helpful
  • Skills in conceptual thinking are advantageous
  • A high degree of initiative, independence and motivation
  • Good language skills in German and/or English
