Internship in Quality Engineering (Project Management and IT Optimization)

Job description
The internship will consist of Project Management tasks to support the development of a new
internal IT tool, such as:

  • Defining process requirements
  • Testing and bug documentation in Jira
  • Conducting key user training and feedback implementation
  • Communication with developers across global time zones
  • Support MVP Go-Live

Furthermore, the intern will become familiar with internal and external IT systems in a corporate
environment and will provide appropriate technical assessment of data and documents supporting
vendor recovery. Based on the skill set, other projects may also be undertaken.
This position will allow you to work from home one day per week.

The intern will have the following main responsibilities

  • Project management support as described above
  • Support of department manager and QEC engineers in strategic and operational tasks

Required qualifications

  • Student of IT or Business Administration/Engineering with strong affinity for IT
  • Proficiency in MS-Office (Excel, Access), VBA, and SQL
  • Experience in database development and maintenance
  • Knowledge of Python and Java are an advantage
  • Personal skills: Highly organized & motivated, eager to learn, strong communicator

Department Info

The Quality Engineering Center (QEC) in Jacksonville, Florida (USA) is one of only two operational units of its kind outside of Germany. The QEC team conducts analysis of failed field parts together with NAFTA suppliers in order to ensure a high level of quality and to share the warranty costs accordingly. The focus of the QEC is not only to steadily improve quality among all Mercedes-Benz car lines but also to audit and qualify suppliers. With the responsibility for the world-wide parts routing processes, the QEC Jacksonville ensures proper sampling for analysis and recovery purposes.
