Development Engineer for High-Precision Optics Assembly Processes (f/m/x)

Your role

  • Develop assembly processes for highly complex opto-mechatronic systems in the field of semiconductor lithography as part of a larger interdisciplinary team that you will lead laterally.
  • Use a variety of technologies from the fields of automation, metrology, sensor technology, joining technology and software.
  • Assume responsibility, from the initial idea and implementation to series production
  • Draw up concepts as well as design, build and test prototypes and use findings to bring concepts to the decision stage.
  • Keep an eye on optimizing performance, timing and costs.
  • Also work closely with, manage and provide technological support to external partners, create performance and requirements specifications, plan and conduct acceptance testing.
  • Summarize and present development results.
  • Carry out handover of processes and associated equipment to production, demonstrate process capability and prepare the necessary documentation.

Your profile

  • A very good degree in the fields of mechanical engineering, mechatronics or a similar discipline
  • Experience in the conceptual design and development of assembly processes and/or acceptance states
  • Understanding of how complex components and systems work and how to budget for tolerances
  • A high level of self-motivation and team spirit as well as a high level of interest in familiarizing oneself with new topics
  • Willingness to work closely with production areas and work in the clean room, occasionally outside of normal working hours
  • Interest in the development of manufacturing processes for optical products at the highest technical level
  • Pleasure in working with development partners and suppliers
  • Willing to occasionally travel on business
  • A good command of written and spoken German and English
